International Cultural Forum St. Petersburg, Russia
A global cultural event-the IX Saint Petersburg International Cultural Forum - <<United Cultures Forum>> has been took place in St. Petersburg, Russia from 16-18 November, 2023. Within the framework of the Forum, the Organizing Committee has workout on a special program for museum professionals. This was focused on inter-museum cooperation and called “How Museum Associations develop Museums”. The organizer had planned and invited the heads and others museum professional from various ICOM museum committees and associations to hear about museums in their countries, learn more about the forms and ways of museum cooperation, as well as talk about the state and further development of international collaboration. The 3-day Forum, participated the leading cultural figures and representatives of gоvеrпmепt and non-government agencies have exchanged the ideas and discussed the trепds and topical issues of enhancing the modern cultural environment. The business рrоgrаm of the Forum was consisting of discussion panels’ on nine thematic sections. On 17 Nov in a special session the president of the Russian Fеdеretiоп Mr. Vladimir Putin also addressed the participants of the forum.
On the request of the ICOM Russia the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Fеdеrаtiоп had invited Mr. Ramesh Prasad Dawadi, Chair of ICOM Nepal, Mr. Bijaya Kumar Shahi, Founder Chair and board member ICOM Nepal and ICOM ASPAC and Ms. Uma Thapaliya, member ICOM Nepal as a speaker in the cultural events of the thematic section <<Museum>>. On 18 Nov there was a special program organized for museum professionals by ICOM Russia in Gatchina Museum, St Petersburg. The main host of the event was Mr. Vasily Pankratov, the chair of ICOM Russia. There was a presentation session by the museum professionals who participated in the forum from various countries. Mr. Dawadi and Mr. Shahi were also presented paper in the event. Mr. Dawadi presented about the strategy and program of ICOM Nepal and Mr. Shahi presented a paper regarding the ICOM ASPAC (Asia Pacific). Same day at evening there was a short field visit and gala dinner at night in Gatchina museum for participants. The entire program of cultural forum has been concluded on 19 Nov 2023.
